About
From neurodiversity to sensory disabilities to other disabilities in general to understanding the complexities of gender and sexuality in fiction writing, this twelve-week course will give an introductory understanding of the critical theory and marry this up with creative writing practice to effectively and efficiently develop your writing voice in the complex and exciting world of minority literature. This course is designed to take your knowledge of individuals with disabilities, help you understand your own, and prepare students with the critical theory and overview, then delving into the specifics of character creation, workshopping and more. You'll come away from this course with detailed feedback and an understanding of the basics of writing about minority characters (specifically in queerness and disability -- two of E. J. Kingdom's specialities).
