Thirteen-year-old, social outcast but top of the class, Asmer has a dark secret, even unknown to her. She is perfect in nearly every way, has one or two supportive friends, and goes through school with no academic struggles. All of that is about to come crashing down and her world will fall apart so much that she will never be able to reverse it, especially as something is lurking deep inside her. When a surge of powers that has been repressed by medication that she’s been forced to take ever since her parents considered the possibility of her powers (to control time) could pose an issue to her wellbeing, she tries to question them about it, but they won’t nudge on the issue. The power prematurely manifests itself in the classroom, resulting in a massive explosion that harms the classmates inside, leaving Asmer confused and trying to get a grip on what the power is, and why it hasn’t been manifested before and how she has kept it at bay for so many years
